I have a 4 year old terrier mix who has anxiety issues, especially around other dogs ( a previous behaviorist said she could never be allowed around other animals ) ...  Earlier this year, I met with Amber for two training sessions to help Gracie and me figure out how to be around other dogs without her becoming hysterical (and sometimes quite snarly).  The sessions with Amber were just what we needed.
A few weeks later, I was able to meet up with my sister and her dog on the bike path and walk our dogs together... Gracie takes a few minutes to settle into a good walk, and she settles down more quickly every time.  Later we had both dogs in the yard off leash and my sister and her dog even have spent the night.
Today I had the opportunity to introduce Gracie to a friend's pitt bull, right in our own yard.  I walked her up and down the driveway twice while Larry stood off to the side with  Roscoe. Then Larry and Roscoe joined us in walking up and down a few times, slowly decreasing the distance between us, until the dogs were walking shoulder to shoulder!
Fifteen minutes later, they were happily playing and wandering around in Gracie's play yard while I drank my coffee. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

"I would highly recommend Amber Barry owner of Pack to Balance training to any of my friends. I met Amber through a referral from the owner of my doggie daycare. Amber had done some training at the daycare and was highly recommended. I was having problems with my 1 ½ year old staffshire terrier named Bleu. Bleu was showing some undesirable assertive behaviors during his daily walks when he saw other dogs. He began to pull and carry on to the point that it was becoming increasingly difficult to manage him. Since he was a 90 pound strong dog I was becoming extremely frustrated with his behavior not to mention it was embarrassing. Amber came to my home and demonstrated how I needed to change my usual walking behavior to get control over my dog. She gave me several helpful tips such as; how to hold the leash, what type of collar would help to improve his behavior and what different types of techniques I could use to turn his attention back to me and not on the other dogs. Amber was also very knowledgeable in many training devices. She suggested a more effective and cheaper solution that helped to change his behavior 100%. It’s hard to believe that within a few sessions with Amber, Bleu had become a pleasure to walk in the neighborhood. I am happy to say he is now a good citizen of his neighborhood"
